All classes require registration in advance, with most classes being limited to 10 persons. See monthly newsletters for more information and lists for class supplies.

We have several classes which meet monthly:

  • Beginning Free Motion Machine Quilting with Mary Buvia: This is a two-part class designed for the beginning quilter or persons with some free-motion quilting experience. The class is offered usually on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday afternoons of the month, 11:00 pm-3:00 pm. Everyone will benefit from the 8-page informative hand-out which is provided, which has a feather quilting design included. An easy, five-step approach will be taught, which is helpful for understanding this quilting technique. There will be a complete discussion on the use of threads, needles, batting, and fabric preparation. The class is conducted in two, 4-hour sessions to be conducted one week apart, with a total of 8 hours of instruction. Minimum of 4 students. Class fee - $80.

  • Monthly, Advanced Quilting Design Series with Mary Buvia: This is a monthly, 3-hour class, designed for the quilter with some free-motion quilting experience. The Free Motion Machine Quilting Class I and II is a pre-requisite. New monthly design series will be presented with an original and unique quilting design(s) OR background study to be discussed and stitched. Designs and background studies are given to you in a full-size, clearly drawn permanent pattern. Monthly samples are available for your viewing. Minimum of 4 students. Class fee - $45.

  • Invisible Appliqué with Mary Buvia: This is a new monthly, 4½ hour class with Mary Buvia. It is designed for the quilter who wants to learn how to stitch with this award-winning method of invisible appliqué. The class includes hands-on preparation, cutting, and stitching. This technique can be used for either machine stitching or hand stitching appliqués to background fabric. The machine stitching technique will be learned in class.
